Recently, the Upper Canada Region has become a growth centre in two target sectors, logistics and agribusiness. Recent additions to the business community include

1. Strategic Location
Located on arterial Highway 401 in Eastern Ontario and within an hour’s drive of Ottawa, Montreal and two border crossings into New York State.
2. Intermodal Centre
Highway 401, Eastern Ontario’s arterial route, transects the Upper Canada Region, directly linking it to the major markets east and west. Ottawa is easily accessed by two secondary highways, Highway 138 and County Road 31 that running north or by the neighboring Highway 416. There is also a CN rail line with existing spurs servicing our business parks as well as a full sea depth port in Morrisburg.
3. Infrastructure Capacity
Our water and waste water treatment plants have the capacity needed to serve your business. In the case of Morrisburg and Iroquois, new state of the art water and waste water plants have been built in the last 5 years.
4. Diverse Investment Opportunities
The region offers partial and fully serviced, municipally owned and appropriately zoned land for sale in three business parks. There are also possibilities within the four plazas that act as central retail and service hubs, and our by-laws are notably supportive of home based business.
5. Full Service Community
Nestled on the shores of the St. Lawrence River, the Upper Canada Region offers a full range of amenities including three medical clinics, a variety of stores and services, endless recreational opportunities and a growing arts community. There is a concentration of affordable single family homes, many of which are located on the waterfront.
